The UAN project was represented at the Portugal Tecnologico Exposition during the 7th-10th of October 2009. A underwater acoustic digital transmission demonstration was setup inside a large aquarium. The visitors had the possibility to send a message on the Portable Acoustic Source Unit (PASU) and view a decoded message at the reception station. Visitors included schools, business and the general public. The Prime minister of Portugal José Socrates visited the exposition and listened to a presentation of the UAN EU-FP7 project. The national radio station RDP Antena 1 and the television station RTP2 recorded interviews which will be broadcast at a later date.
